Donate Now

Thanks to this year’s donors, we have already assisted many folks who needed help with their current bills. While LCEF applies for grants that may assist us with our efforts, we also rely on financial support from local businesses, individuals and churches. Any amount can help us to continue “touching lives in crisis”. Click on the DONATE NOW button to make an online donation or READ MORE for additional information.

Everyone who attended or supported our recent BBQ fundraiser. Thanks to Supervisor Fitzgerald Barnes for the awesome pork barbecue and to the Freddy’s Fingers Band for the lively music. Attendees also savored many side dishes and desserts, prepared by local cooks competing for cook-off prizes. People’s Choice awards were presented to Carol Bennett (#2) for her baked beans, Susan Utt (#7) for her slaw, Sharon MacDonald (#11) for her cornbread, and Deborah French (#16) for her banana pudding dessert. Other cooks included Vanessa Reed-Hall, Lin Kogle, Cathy Portner, Renee Houndshell, Boyd Miller, Betty Rae Hiter, Hope Broaddus, Terry McElhone and Tina Hall. We also appreciate our business supporters, including Barbecue Exchange, Joe-Joe’s subs, Wal-Mart, Mineral Diner, Smokin’ Eddy’s BBQ, and Louisa Resource Council.

Through the Hard Times, We’re Here to Help

BillsSince we began accepting requests for assistance in November 2015, we have helped 107 families in crisis. Through local community support with donations and grants, we have provided over $20,000 in financial support. We are also partnering with the Virginia Extension Service to conduct family budgeting classes for some of our clients. Other partnerships allow us to refer those who need services that we don’t provide. And our administrative expenses are very low, less than 3% of our total income!
